Renaturalization of the urban infrastructure
Eje Verde Norte is a 10-kilometer urban and landscaping project that reformulates the dialogue between the city and green areas. The high social value corridor connects the different parks in the northern area of Alcalá de Henares by intervening in urban connection areas. We provide the citizens with different areas of relationship and outdoor recreation to contribute to the creation of a safe and accessible environment where they are the real protagonists
New spaces. New identities.
The project proposes a set of interventions such as the adequacy of paths through the installation of its own paving and totems that guide the pedestrian along the entire route. Pedestrians are given greater protection from vehicles by widening the avenues, raising all crossings and creating pockets of vegetation to separate them from vehicular traffic. In the park areas, paths have been adapted, new areas have been created, and landscaping and lighting have been improved.
In order to give the project its own identity, a line of urban furniture was designed exclusively for the Eje Verde Norte. In addition, legible and adapted signage was installed along the entire route, allowing the entire population to identify the route and find their way around it.
The project is part of the sustainability criteria and strategies established by the European Union and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the cities promoted by the UN.
