In the last five years, we have created more than 1,200 homes and designed more than 70,000 m² of green areas. Six hours after starting work on the competition, an idea emerged: “without neighbors,” separating the dwellings by a sort of green cracks, isolating the dwellings from each other, alienating the party walls. Alicante – Algae What if these cracks form channels inhabited by macrophytes that collect and clean grey water and rainwater and then reuse it for irrigation and to supply toilets? What if these channels, in addition to saving water consumption in the homes, generated a space of intimacy and separation between inhabitants? What if “my neighbor is a seaweed”?
